ARTISTTAAN

Founded in 2016 by Aamir Kunwar, ARTISTTAAN began as a movement in the streets of East Delhi. What started as a passion project to support local rappers evolved into India's leading independent hip-hop and indie music label — and the first Indian hip-hop label to sign with Sony Music.

From a small locality in Jamnapaar, Aamir identified raw talent that mainstream labels wouldn't touch. Legends like Raga, Harjas, Yawar, and Muhfaad were among the first voices ARTISTTAAN amplified — artists who shaped the underground before Indian hip-hop had a mainstream.

That legacy lives on through today's roster — Shrey's poetic flows, Abir's soulful production, Slay's relentless energy, Apoorvv's indie heart, and Faraz's RnB precision. Every release carries the DNA of Indian streets, languages, and lived experiences.
